Our Founding Story

In 2021, Lauren Mims and Kristen Collins came together with a shared vision: to create a meaningful way for women in the Coastal Bend to unite, give back, and make a lasting difference in the community they call home.

Their goal was simple but powerful—to create a philanthropic organization where local women could pool their resources, amplify their impact, and support the nonprofits doing critical work throughout the Coastal Bend.

From that vision, 100 Women of the Coastal Bend was born.

Our organization brings together women who share a passion for making a difference. Members gather quarterly with the goal of collectively donating $10,000 or more to deserving local nonprofits at each meeting. Through a thoughtful application and vetting process, we ensure that selected organizations are established 501(c)(3) nonprofits serving the needs of our community and making a meaningful impact.

Beyond the financial support we provide, 100 Women of the Coastal Bend is about connection, community, and the belief that when women come together with a shared purpose, incredible things happen. Our quarterly gatherings create an opportunity for members to build relationships, learn about the needs within our community, and become part of a like-minded sisterhood committed to serving others.

What began as a shared dream has grown into a movement of women united by generosity, compassion, and a commitment to strengthening the Coastal Bend—one collective gift at a time.
